Quoting Wikipedia "cover version, or simply cover, is a new rendition (performance or recording) of a previously recorded, commercially released song."
Many popular songs are usually covered by equally popular artistes. E.g. A song like Words has been covered by many mainline artistes over the years. Instead of obtaining rights to include those tracks that are owned by other labels (e.g. Bombay by Universal), T-Series has opted to produce its own covers. Only, in this case, the covers are by T-Series' studio artistes with horrific singing and arrangements. T-Series is notorious for producing covers, that's how they built up the giant that it is today. --- Chord <[email protected]> wrote: > Gops, what do you mean by "cover versions"? > > > > --- In [email protected], Gopal Srinivasan <catchg...@...> > wrote: > > > > > > T-Series has released a 3 CD pack of ARR songs titled 'A.R.Rahman > Signature Collection' to cash > > in on his recent success. > > > > http://webstore.tseries.com/product_details.php?type=acd&pid=4925 > > > > Unfortunately, all the non-T-Series songs are horrendous cover versions. > > > > >
