I differ. I personally think that ordinary human beings are not attuned to understand BGM, they listen to it half eared, engrossed in the visual, and forget it as the seen is over.
Human beings need lyrics to remember and recall and humm a music (song). -- Let's test our focus on BGMs. Q1. Mention a dozen movies non-ARR-BGM movies of last 78 years whose BGMs you love, and tell the name of their BG-MD??? So there. I personally don't even know who gave BGM of which movie, even for a single movie. Q2. Which of ARR's non-lyrics pieces (only music piece) got most popular - IN GENERAL PUBLIC (not in ARR-fans). I think none. People might not even remember any. -- BGMs don't bring ARR popularity. And when several directors are unable to do justice to ARR's songs, they wouldn't be able to do justice to his BGMs. So I rather think that ARR does BGM's for only his own films (having his music). I will always remember the effect of Kishna's that small instrumental piece on my that friend. -- Rawat On 3/3/2009 8:48 PM India Time, _Vithur_ wrote: > This is more than enough.
