I dont like this idea of doing just BGM, as CDs never get released :( But I do enjoy & notice BGM in most movies.
Ans 1. In Hollywood movies, bgm is always imp. In Bollywood, BGM makers dont get noticed much, but obviously bgm does play very imp role. Salim Sulaiman are very good at making bgm. To name a few (non-arr), I loved bgm (not necessarily the songs) of Krrish, Ab Tak 56, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (all by Salim Sulaiman), also liked U Me Aur Hum & Black bgm (Monty Sharma). Sandeep Chowta & Ranjit Borat are also good at bgm. Ans 2. They dont become popular among public because freaking CDs of bgm dont get released. Anyways, Rahman's bgm tunes do get noticed. Swades theme featured in Slumdog is biggest example of that. Still, I agree with your end statement that I'd like to see Rahman doing bgm of only the movies whose music he gives. --- In [email protected], V S Rawat <vsra...@...> wrote: > > I differ. > > I personally think that ordinary human beings are not attuned to > understand BGM, they listen to it half eared, engrossed in the visual, > and forget it as the seen is over. > > Human beings need lyrics to remember and recall and humm a music (song). > > -- > Let's test our focus on BGMs. > > Q1.
