I never bothered to go there, not ready to face the discomfort of standing in dirt and heat among a noisy, sweaty crowd for hours, such programs are always late by hours, and you don't even get to see them clearly from that far. I hardly went to any such gathering but when those leaders and personalities are no more with us, now I crave to get a glimpse of them, to get to talk to them, to hear to them. In the few occasions that I did go, I still remember - the unclear hazy figure of Mrs Indira Gandhi in a stage far far away, another time the tiny, bowing figure of Mother Teresa moving her hand on the head of a kid girl some 3 feet away, and their voices echoing. I don't remember even myself - I might have been 12-14 years old, but I remember them and miss them. -- I hope you all can recall similar events when you were in the nearness of great people.
