Hi All,

I agree with the post below. I started listening to Rahman's tamil albums right
from Roja and every album he released is a festival for me atleast. I would go
to the shops almost daily for 2 weeks before an album releases and check in
case if it has relased. I remember once, I had 50Rs for fuel and my vehicle was
running out of petrol. On the way home I saw that the album BABA was released
all of a sudden and I went into the shop and bought it straight-away. I was
speeding home and my vehicle stopped. I just dragged my vehicle for some 7-8
kms to reach home and I straight away played BABA in my home system and this
gave me great joy. That was the level of excitement I had for every ARR
release. Then times changed and Rahman started working on more hindi albums and
less tamil albums. I was feeling that may be Rahman should work on more tamil
albums. But then, albums like ATM/Sugarcube/Kadhal Virus were real duds at the
box-office and the songs went unnoticed. Then I felt that probably its better
to work on movies that have a mileage rather than Rahman giving his soul on
tamil movies that are duds. Also, off late none of the tamil directors / movies
have really made me felt that Rahman must have been a part of that project. May
be 4-5 movies will be exceptions for the last 5 years in tamil. but then its
hard for Rahman to listen to every script in tamil and judge what will work and
what will not !
I wish and hope in the future that more tamil directors that have great movie
making skills like MR/ Shankar emerge and work with rahman making him work on
more tamil albums.Until then am happy for Rahman to work in hindi.
