I discovered here on Heroes too but it was for the song Hide & Seek on the first ever episode. I also got a glimpse of her work process on TED. Then I saw that she collaborated with Nitin Sawhney on his last album (the song is Bring It Home) as well as bansuri player Ashwin Srinivasan on her own album Ellipse.
Yes, Imogen Heap has a good sense of melody and makes huge use of technology both for her music and for communication. In fact, she tweets everyday.
