----------------> I find Beera, Thok De Killi, Ranjha, Behene De, and Khilli Re hummable. I can hummed all 3 songs very well after the first listen and never had a hard time remembering the tune. "Kata Kata had huge expectations from me, but this song sounds to me like a fun song with lot of variations in beat and singing. the structure and variation being changed in AR's songs is seen nowadays a lot. It irritates the listener and makes him think that where the song is going." -------------------> The operative word is "expectation". Our expectations often lead to disappointments, not because of any substandard work by ARR. ARR's songs have always been known for its structural unconventionality....nothing new in that. It may irritate some, but fascinate others. It doesn't irritate everyone. "Beera is good but short. lot of beera beera repetitions, they could have made the song longer with 2 stanzas." --------------------> I agree with you. Wish the song was longer, but it would have sounded a bit too repetitive with increased length. "I have bn following ARR form 92 so i am used to this initial not liking, and then getting impressed. But still, I feel this album is a disappointment. It makes me wonder whether is this the combination which gave "Vellai pookal", "pachai nirame", "Dilse", "Bombay", "thiruda thiruda" to the world." ---------------------> It's the same combination, but a different time and different movie and different direction. Hope you like this album in the future after it further settling in. If not, tough luck and better luck next time. > > > > > ________________________________ > From: AJ <purev...@...> > To: [email protected] > Sent: Sat, April 24, 2010 7:22:27 PM > Subject: [arr] Re: Raavan songs - not impressing on intial hearing.. > >  > I respect your initial impressions, but please give it some time and try to > avoid conclusive statements for now. > > This album is not going to be liked by everyone.
