Busy in last minute mentoring of 1st May Gujarat’s golden jubilee
celebrations, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday rejected a
newly made song on Gujarat golden jubilee theme, composed by Oscar and
Grammy award winner Bollywood music director A.R.Rehman reportedly due to
“lacking of essence of Gujaratism in it”.

According to exclusive story published in Gujarati daily Gujarat Samachar on
Monday, a song “Dhanya hu thai gayo ahi janma je maro thayo” written by
Gujarat based lyricist and actor Dilip Raval for 1st May Gujarat day
function was composed by AR Rehman and recorded at Kirti Sagathiya’s
recording studio. As the final product was ready, the song was played before
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi at his bungalow on Sunday for his
approval.

However Modi seemed not in joy, when the song was being played. As soon as
the song was over, Modi reacted and reportedly said, “this song has nowhere
a tint of Gujarat. Neither its lyrics are powerful nor its beat has Gujarati
essence. This song would not work. You should prepare some other song.”

“It is not necessary that you rope in some big musician like AR Rehman only.
The musician can let say some local person also, but the final product
should have enough essence to propel Gujaratism in listener’s self,” Modi
reportedly instructed the officials present at his bungalow.
