Its good as ARR's Old BGMs.
In my opinion Raavan BGM totally up to the ARR standard....
to remember some..
A acoustic style Flute+string Bgm plays almost 3 or 4 time in Tamil
Raavanan unfortunately its only once in Hindi Raavan. (Where "ragini"
wears saree and "Veera"commenting on it). it is purely a Music brings U
into a other world.(it is also plays where "veera" talks to "raagini"
infront of the statue, and again after "veera" talks to her during she
tied to a tree and pointed the gun to him - only in Tamil Raavanan - in
hindi its start with the same but then changed to the song - "jaad ud
Jaare") but it is very much remember me a hollywood score it is very
similar in tune too.

"en asai neeya" the line from "kalvare" by Shreya in Tamil and the
respective Hindi version is just cute bit plays in mix of some effects,
just B4 the song "Kalvare" or "Khile re" starts.

A Female humming(balgarian vox?) plays back in several places(when 'dev'
speaks to veera's brother in law and sugar in diesel tank seen and more)
and a male chorus (vennila's body been take from Well) too are
beautiful.

the Strings Music plays following to the above said Femal hmming, while
"raagni" calls/cries for "dav" in the shores of river is appealing a
lot.

A sarangi Cries in the tone of "Naan Varuven" or "jaad ud Jaare" while
"vennila" cries is Absolutely a vintage rahmantic style BGM after a very
long time. earlier he used to use this type music for sad scenes.

finally when "veera" shot and falling down, any other surrounding sound
effects stops and a song starts to play..........................do I
really need to tell about that, I cant, bcos I can only just feel it. an
atheist also will come to believe in divine.

altogether Ravanan/Raavan BGM is ARR another piece of Great work,
eagerly waits for DVDs for rip music.

great BGMs... By the way, sugar in diesel engine does absolutely no harm
to the engine actually:)

The BGM reminds me a lot of Thiruda Thiruda's BGM. Anyone feel the same
way too?
