If you are using Oracle, you can do a table reorganize. This compresses the data and gives some level of certainty that the data on the physical device is overwritten.
What do other apps that fall under this umbrella do to clean data from their databases? Also, how is the data removed from other storage mediums (tape, replicated servers, etc)?
