Igor, These are separate concepts:
Deployable Applications Locked ARS objects Locked as in Read Only or Hidden Yes they can be combined to, but to my knowledge there are no special "added tricks" when they are combined. Deployable applications provide a bit more abstraction between the applications an the ARS Server environment. (for example: logical application Roles that are mapped to ARS Server groups based on the "Mode" of the application[development, test, production], the ability to export data with the deployable application) Locked ARS objects are a way to treat a set of objects as "one unit". If you delete one, then they are all deleted. This is a one way process that can not be undone by a customer. So make sure you export your objects as "unlocked" BEFORE you export them as locked. You, as the author/owner of an unlocked object can choose how it should be locked. (AKA: Hidden or Read Only) during export. When the locked objects are imported then you will see the results of the "lock" process. The root purpose of this is to allow partners (and BMC) to publish ARS Server objects that are restricted from others prying eyes and or changes that might break the vendors integrations/processes. (Understand that locking a form has various twists and you should read the docs for more details.) All in all the locking is more interesting in my opinion, but most people will have little or no use for it as custom developers. However the Deployable applications have distinct advantages and drawbacks too, and will be more useful in my opinion to a large audience. Hope that helps as a primer on the topics. -- Carey Matthew Black Remedy Skilled Professional (RSP) ARS = Action Request System(Remedy) Solution = People + Process + Tools Fast, Accurate, Cheap....
