One of my personal main concern, beside the technical challenge, is the lack of being able to stay in touch / keep yourself updated with the latest product developments - and if that is only for having a look at the "Whats new" notes.
Like basically I think your product qualification would loose gradually with every release you can't get your hands on - and by that your value as "ressource", right ?
It's amazing though to see that unsupported systems are in place, and running fine. Yes, I also thought about that "faking MAC address" option ... havn't scanned through the agreements to check if that would be a legally valid option.
