Yes I have noticed that same behaviour for first time logins with Aliases too.. But I think they have changed that with version 6.3. I haven't really specifically tried to see but do remember seeing the alias name directly in the object list the first time I logged into the user client after creating a new form with an alias to it...

 

If this is true (which I haven't verified after I thought I did notice it) it would take off a lot of confusion especially with first time users who would just require to remember the alias..

I've used the Alias before but it was confusing when the alias was very different from the actual name.

The first time logins would see the actual name then subsequent connections get the alias in the object list.

At least that's the way it happened here.

 

I never tried changing the Request Identifier because we used the Request Id for our Helpdesk ticket number.

I do have a few forms that could benefit from the change to that parameter.

Under Form View Properties, go to Aliases and Labels and change the Request Identifier.. off course the form name can be changed to whatever you want to alias it to..

No Mid-Tier

 

I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the data that displays in the top margin of a window. Instead of the Form Name and Request ID I would like to have data from another field.
