Ok.. I have had enough of this Twinkie bashing.
Let us all leave those sweet, tender, sponge cakes alone.
Such slander against such a sweet and voiceless victim just leaves a
bad taste in my mouth. (And it should do the same for you.)
We all need to be sensitive, and gentle with such items. Just
because your not bright yellow and cream filled does not mean that you
have any right to bash (or worst yet, SMASH) such a great part of our
community. Twinkies have added a lot to our community and they are a
long time contributor to our User Group personality.
And just to be perfectly clear....
There is nothing wrong with eating Twinkies in sufficient volumes
to leave you in a sugar fit so that you have a chance to keep up with
Colleen Eilbert's discussion of the "Task Management System and
Command Automation" features. (36 power point slides, 36 or more ARS
forms, and a few dozen "Well, we application developers use this, but
it is not documented, so you might find it helpful too. If you can
figure it out, because it has a bunch of stuff that really does not do
anything, but it is there anyway. Just remember this and you will be
fine....." Not to mention the additional volume needed to try to keep
up with Doug as his is bouncing around the User Group too.
I also find nothing wrong with the idea that mankind might
actually have invented something that is durable enough to survive a
nuclear holocaust. Maybe there is hope that other such
"indestructible" things can be invented too. ( Like, I hope, the User
Group itself. )
Maybe we need a new category for an ARSList award:
Best snack (or mascot) for the BMC User Group?
Maybe we could select:
a Lady Bug? (trying to keep with the Bmc User Group theme)
or a chocolate grasshopper?(Trying to keep with a sweet substitute.)
Less artificial ingredients than the current mascot, but some
might also take exception to the death of insects too. ( You have to
make choices some where. )
And if you managed to read all of that an not laugh, giggle, or
understand the absurdity's of all of that... well... you missed the
point. Try checking your logs with your tongue firmly planted in your
cheek and see if you can find an active link between the failing
filter, or a miss firing escalation in your system. :)
Anyway... I am waiting on my plane to get my home after BUG 2006 and
just wanted to comment in defense of one of my favorite parts of RUG.
Twinkies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Up with Decidence" ( A tradition that would be nice to see restored.
Well, maybe every other year. :)
