Title: RE: Created 15,000 tickets
**

Kathy,

I am sure this will be just one of many recommendations to not try to renumber your existing tickets using sql. There are way too many pitfalls. James’ suggestion to export out your current tickets, change your next ID value, and import while creating new IDs is the best course of action.

Good luck.

Kathy:

It is possible to do this but I don't have the knowledge on how to do this in the database, but I have done this through an export/import.  Just set the import tool to gen new id's.

Yikes!!  This is alarming.  Your advice regarding the "tickets created after the auto-generated tickets"  -- can the new tickets created today be renumbered directly in the database?
