Chris, Yes, that's possible but you would probably have to rework a lot of workflow objects in the HelpDesk OOTB apps. I don't have Helpdesk here but if the People form is integral to Helpdesk you would need to bypass the calls to it.
We lookup the customer and add them to our customer (people) form as we go. This has the advantage of using the AD on our windows network and if the AD is unavailable for a few minutes we can still get the last known good information on a customer from the local customer form. On entering a customer id or name I have a Display only form popup with two superimposed tables. One returns the information from the AD lookup Vendor form and the other one shows the local Customer records. Buttons on the Display only form switch between the two tables. HTH, John J. Hi there, has anyone implemented a people lookup in realtime from LDAP (or AD) ? Instead of loading 50,000+ employees into the people table, could you do a realtime lookup and then populate the employee info on the Indicent/Problem/Change ? That way it would always be accurate, as long as LDAP is and you don't have to worry about synching and pushing the data to the people table. I understand that you probably still need the support staff in the people table, unless you can also implement LDAP groups that assign permissions in realtime.
