Brian,

Actually with v7 you can see current users connected via the User Tool
if your an Admin user. It is part of the "AR System Administration
Console" ( Application --> Users/Groups/Roles --> License Review).
True this does not produce any "log file data" or history collection.
However that display is based on the "AR System Administration:
License Review" form (Vendor form) that should be possible to write an
escalation against to capture data at intervals too. (Or if you really
want to write an API client then you could simply query that form's
data on an interval and "do the right thing" too.)

I really think the trick is to know things like the following based on
the data that is there:

"Should this user have a Fixed, Floating or Read license type?"
For AR System license and EACH application license
"Should this account be suspended due to inactivity?"
"Am I getting close to needing to buy more Floating Licenses of type
'x', or 'Y'?"

** Let me point out that I appreciate rrrLicense at the onset. However, it
is just a fancy utility to utilize the user log file. I once wrote a
program that ran against a 4.5 system that displayed the users currently
logged in at a semi short interval and even allowed threshold settings, and
storing the information to a log file on a daily basis or manual basis.
Something like this would be handy.

I suppose I should just take the bull by the horns and upgrade it to work on
the newer systems.

If someone else had something like this, I think it would be appreciated.
If not, I guess I will get started on it
one day soon.

Any feedback about what would be appreciated features will be accepted
graciously.

Thanks,
