I was thinking of doing that Axton but if it doesn't work then the
repercussions are that I have start from square one since all the
workflow would be corrupt right?
Has anyone actually tried this?  If so that would raise my confidence
and I guess I could try to purge the view form and reimport it via an
altered def file... 
Im waiting for Remedy BMC to get back to me on this to see if they can
provide any advice on this.

It looks like the column was dropped frmo the table/view the view form
points to.  Add the column back to the view/table, then delete the field
from the view form.

Alternatively, you can export your workflow against this form, delete
the form, recreate it with your modified def, then reimport the
workflow.
