** When you open the data in Excel from a text file: Set the data format in the column to "Text".
If you already have an existing excel sheet with leading zeros removed: Select the column, right-click and select Format Cells, select Custom and type 000000000000000 in the Type box. Then click OK and export as .csv.

Good luck,

Franl,
Yes I am using Remedy Import tool.
I tried that and still doing the same thing. By the way I just checked the csv file converted from Excel file and all preceding 0's has been removed.  I am thinking that could be the problem, is there anyway to prevent the 0s from being eliminated?

Goto File->Preferences and click on the Duplicate Request ID tab. Select Replace Old Record with New Record.

I am trying to import a data to the form where the data came from.  Currently nothing is in the form, however when I import the data it is not keeping the original 'Request ID' I tried different options but it kept on assigning the records new 'request ID'  does any body know if there is a way to keep the original 'Request ID' for each record?

Thanks
