There are several reasons for this need. 1. Users who think they know everything and always close the Support Console, then call me when they can not figure out how to do something that was on the console.
2. I run several interval active links on the console to do checks and to run a news ticker, this will stop when the User closes the form. Also the news ticker is suppose to be required viewing by the manager for sending emergency news to the users. 3. Some users "never" close their clients, so I always get calls after a change is made to the system from users that did not get the change (also their client cache files mess up more then users that close their clients). So I have used interval active links on the console to "close" the users client "every" day at 11pm. Now all my users always pick up the changes and the amount of corrupt client cache files has gone way down. Why there is a need for this functionality as log as an end user can log out? ________________________________ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Clary, Bill Sent: 27 October 2006 19:50 To: [email protected] Subject: Not allow users to close a form ** All; I have a support console form that opens for everyone on login. I need to stop users from closing this form "without" using an error message. If I use an error message they also get the message when closing the client and that is "very" confusing to them. I am running AR 6.3 on UNIX and Oracle.
