There are approximately 55 floating license users and 23 floating
licenses.

Are there two different floating write license ERROR messages generated
by the system (one for the AR server and one for the Help Desk
application)?

The reason I am asking is because users have reported one type of
message that specifically states that all floating licenses are in use.
Users have also reported the more cryptic message I mentioned in my
original post.

How many floating licenses do you have? How many users are assigned a
floating license?

Subject: "ARERR [331] You do not have write access" Displays randomly
for floating AR license users when saving to DB.

Fellow admins and developers,

Can anyone help me or provide suggestions? This issue has been going on

for the past two months.

Users have been receiving the following message when attempting to
update
the database. "ARERR [331] You do not have write access".

1. I have been able to determine that the error occurs randomly.
2. It only effects AR floating license users.
3. The problem temporarily goes away in most cases after 20 - 30
minutes.
4. If I make a modification to the user's account in the User form; have

the user re-log into MS Windows, and wait 10 minutes before logging into

Remedy Help Desk, the problem temporarily goes away.
5. If I assign the user an AR fixed license, the error goes away and
they
are able to make updates.when saving to DB.

Environment:
AR System Server version 5.01.2, patch 1350
Remdy Help Desk version 5.6
Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (running on a cluster)

Your assistance is greatly appreciated,

John White
