Ian,
I've set a new Midtier Administration password in Admin tool (although that
file was empty before).
While trying to enter this password within Edit AR Server window in
Midtier-config I receive the following error -
type Exception report
message
description The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from
fulfilling this request.

note The full stack trace of the root cause is available in the Apache
Tomcat/5.5.17 logs.
It seems to me that I should do something else for installing Midtier on Tomcat
properly. Just copying an arsys.war file is not enough.
Thank you.
Kind Regards / C ?????????

Hello List,
I am trying to connect a Mid-tier 7.0.1 to our ARS 6.3 Server.
Mid-tier 7.0.1 is installed the following way -
(Windows 2003)
1. JRE 1.5 (It didn't ask for SDK).
2. Tomcat 5.5.17
3. Copied arsys.war (aka Mid-tier 7.0.1) to \webapps
4. Restarted Tomcat service.
Seemed to work since I could access Midtier-config tool, but I did not
know the dafault password, so
5. Removed arsystem.password
Now I could access Midtier config tool with an emplty password
6. Added our ARS server (Solaris 9) IP-address and it's port number
onto AR Server Settings
<http://helpdesk/arsys/shared/config/config_arslist.jsp> form. (It aslo asked
for Admin Password) but I didn't understand which password does it mean, so I
didn't enter any.
That's all.
Now I tryed to access ARS server, but whatever login and password I
enter it shows me the following error -
Kind Regards / C ?????????

Dmitry,
I think what you need here is to set the Mid-Tier Admin Password in the Admin
Tool first. Then use that password in the Midtier config tool and you should
be able to connect through.
When you install a 7.0.x ARS server the installation process requires you to
enter passwords for both the Application Service and Mid-Tier, which I think is
a new requirement.
Hope this helps.
Ian
