Rick,

You may not have to recreate all of the forms you listed, since most of
them come with the base product. Can you compare them side-by-side with
your customized forms and see what the major changes are? Many
customizations end up being cosmetic, and a lot of workflow can be
reproduced by deduction or better, eliminated.

When I make massive modifications to a Remedy form, I'll add new views
with my fields on them and leave the old ones alone so if someone ever
has to go back, they can clearly see where I started. Your predecessor
may have employed some documentation method you have yet to discover.

You can trace forms and menus backward by enlisting the following manual
process: Get out a legal pad. Write down the name of the Form and the
field that's giving you problems. Open the Attributes on the field,
write down its associated Menu. Open the Menu, write down its
associated Form and Qualifications. While tedious, this process is
guaranteed to work and you'll learn your system inside and out.

Best of luck,

J Meyer

Subject: Re: Import ARERROR 405 ARS 5.1.2 on Display Only forms... (part
2)

Jennifer,

Thanks.

First, I'm importing an entire HD 5.5 app that I inherited, so I have
little to no history on changes that were made.

Second, it's heavily customized, so anything could have happened on the
way to its current state.

Third, most of the app was imported successfully; most of the errors
were with forms/menus.

I could restore the 'Status' fields on the original server, perform the
import, then change the 'Status' fields back on the destination server
so that they work with workflow, but I'm not sure how to make a
'generic' copy.

In any event, I'm trying to avoid recreating:
CHG:Change
CHG:Task
HPD:Solutions
SHR:ApplicationGroups
SHR:Association
SHR:Bulletin
SHR:Categorization
SHR:ConsolidatedList
SHR:Contact
SHR:Location
SHR:People
SHR:PersonalPreferences
SHR:Survey
SHR:Template
SHRCFG:ConfigTmpIndex
SLA:Measurement
SLA:Rule Event Occurrence

(I'm sitting here contemplating just how painful that would be!!)

Anyway,

Thanks again.
