This is quite useful. I wish there was a PDF document that had information
of all past versions and continuously updated.

I would find the control version of the AR System database useful to have
too in addition to this. This would give the reader/developer a good idea
when the structure of the database changed.

For future reference I created a document on the BMC Communities with more
versions - https://communities.bmc.com/docs/DOC-37267

Much appreciated Mark; version numbering has definitely been inconsistent
over the years. Good to have some clarification.

That's the initial release of 8.1 SP2. There are some later hotfix versions
which have a different date and should include the word Hotfix in the
version string.

Subject: Version numbering

Morning all!

Just a quick question on version numbers; difficult to get an answer to this
for myself on the BMC site at the moment due to issues on our support
contract (we have one, but it doesn't seem to list everything).

We have some older systems for which "we" (the internal dev team) were
responsible and are definitely patched - for example, our 7.6.04 system is
running on 7.6.04 SP4. Our v7.5 system is reporting that it is on 7.5.00
Patch 004.

We have a newer 8.1 system that has been installed for us by an external
provider, which is reporting "8.1.02 201408260235". Going by the "old"
version numbering, this looks to be unpatched? Or is it 8.1 patch 02?

So just looking for confirmation on version numbering for v8.1 ....
(hopefully it isn't too complicated!)

Regards

Dave
