I think it's a great idea, but let's be careful what we wish for. Remedy has for years promised (or threatened, depending on how you look at it) to put a bunch of new tools out in a for-sale toolbox (including RDP). I don't know when or if that will ever come to pass, and I don't know to what degree ERs like this will play into that decision. My point is that just because we might get this functionality, doesn't mean that it would be included in the base product. BMC might pull the functionality out of Admin and charge us for it.

If real-time syncing is not possible, then the following two options would be handy: 1) Sync entire database 2) Sync updated components Since remedy knows the last time the search database was synced up, then it would make since that it would know all of the components that had been updated since the last sync and could sync all of those This would save you from missing something important if you explicitly listed which components to sync up. An expansion from this idea would be to list all of the components which had been updated since the last sync, then let you choose which ones you wanted to run a sync on. Joe, Personally I think the admin tool should have an option to sync every individual object as changes are committed. (To keep the sync db up to date at all times by dropping all references to that one object and walking that one object for all of it's references.) [ BTW, the same should be true for a Source Control integration from the ARS server side too.] Maybe someday we will see an admin tool that is extensible (by us) so that we can add value to it.
