And I don't think you'll find one that way, either. The only way I got to
see it was by looking at the actual database tables.

Rick,

I have been researching Altiris integration today (sans Remedy
Connector). I installed Service & Asset Suite Level 1 on a test server.
I have not been able to locate any data model or schema/database diagram
either in the product's help docs, searching Google, nor searching
Altiris's support forum site.

I found one posting
(http://forums.altiris.com/messageview.aspx?catid=10&threadid=5593&enter
thread=y) that seemed to state that there is no such document in
existence. I don't give up that easily...do you know where I can get a
pdf of the schema diagram?

Stephen

I don't, other than what I already said - don't buy the connectors if
you're at all competent in DB stuff and Remedy (which you probably are).
Once you see the data model, it makes sense, and isn't that hard to map
to whatever Remedy tables you want.

       John,

Our company will soon be switching from Zen Asset Management

I'm glad to see you have it working - please update us on some
tips and
tricks once you get it humming just right.

I've seen how they work in general, and also the Altiris data
model, and
my general advice is just to use View forms (or, if you already
have it,
BMC Discovery tools) to access the Altiris tables. Accomplishes
the
same thing at a lot lower cost than that of the connectors.

       All,

I recently installed and configured the Altiris
Connector
for Remedy and am successfully pulling data into remedy from
Altiris. I
was looking to see if others were doing this so we could
collaborate on
best practices, advice, share forms and ideas etc.

       Thanks,
