I will still use Remedy Views. I need to first discover how Altiris
stores and updates its data in its tables and views.

"Which will get me exactly what that using Remedy View fields will not?"
would be my question.

Talk to Heather Meygesi at the City of Portland, or look up some of her
posts on the subject - she's been down this road and could probably help
with a few tips.

Heather, want to chime in here?

And I don't think you'll find one that way, either. The only
way I got
to see it was by looking at the actual database tables.

               Rick,

I have been researching Altiris integration today (sans
Remedy
Connector). I installed Service & Asset Suite Level 1 on
a test
        server.
I have not been able to locate any data model or
schema/database
        diagram
either in the product's help docs, searching Google, nor
        searching
               Altiris's support forum site.

               I found one posting

document in
existence. I don't give up that easily...do you know
where I
        can get a
               pdf of the schema diagram?

               I don't, other than what I already said - don't buy the
        connectors if
you're at all competent in DB stuff and Remedy (which you

        probably are).
Once you see the data model, it makes sense, and isn't
that hard
        to map
to whatever Remedy tables you want.

I'm glad to see you have it working - please
update us on
        some
               tips and
tricks once you get it humming just right.

I've seen how they work in general, and also the
Altiris
        data
               model, and
my general advice is just to use View forms (or,
if you
        already
               have it,
BMC Discovery tools) to access the Altiris tables.

        Accomplishes
               the
same thing at a lot lower cost than that of the
        connectors.

                      All,

I recently installed and configured the
        Altiris
               Connector
for Remedy and am successfully pulling data into
remedy
        from
               Altiris. I
was looking to see if others were doing this so we
