Have you tried installing each component separately (ie ARSystem then
Mid-Tier)? It sounds like the mid-tier portion is causing issues. What are
the justifications to sticking with 7.6.04? I'm assuming potentially
integrations and custom java api's is the driving factor. Is everything
running from one box? Interesting that they want to upgrade to Windows 2016
and not upgrade Remedy. Are they dead set on 2016? Have you tried 2008 or
2012? Getting older versions of software is always a challenge with newer
versions. Aside from giving 1000 reasons to upgrade Remedy also, I would start
with installing each component separately.

Are you using the ITSM canned application?
If you are using just custom applications you can use ARS 8.1.x or 9.1.x and
the User tool will still work.

Subject: Installing Remedy 7.6.0.4 on Windows 2016

We're stuck using 7.6.0.4 due to end-user needs for the client. We need to
upgrade the OS as Windose2003 is no longer supportable.

I've tried installing it on Windows 2016 using Java 1.6 as the installer
would not recognize 1.8x or 9x.
Noted during the install, the installer did not list IIS for the web server
but continues the install only to fail in the long run. I've also added the
IIS 6 compat packs and retried the install but get the same results. The
installer does not see IIS, and the redirector does not get setup.

I've tried to manually setup the redirector but again Remedy install fails.

Has anyone migrated to Remedy ARS 7x to Windows 2016 successfully? If so can
you share your setup process.

Regards
Norm Dignard
