Mark,

I would take a page from BMC's book and mimic their number generator
workflow. Create a dummy form where the prefix is ABC. Create dummy
tickets in this form and return the ticket # generated. Look at HPD:CFG
Ticket Num Generator and associated workflows. Alternatively, you can
increment a number and then just concatenate the ABC part to it.

Subject: Increment a character "number"

HI All

I have a requirement to take a number such as ABC0005 in a character field
and automatically increment. The case is I have a form where I list the
first number (ABC001) and the quantity (5). When the create button is
selected, there would be a push field to create a new record (x5) with
sequential numbers (ABC001, ABC002, ABC003, ABC004, ABC005). Anyone do
something like that?

ARS 9.1

Thanks
Mark
