Mark, I would take a page from BMC's book and mimic their number generator workflow. Create a dummy form where the prefix is ABC. Create dummy tickets in this form and return the ticket # generated. Look at HPD:CFG Ticket Num Generator and associated workflows. Alternatively, you can increment a number and then just concatenate the ABC part to it.
