Subject: Re: Increment a character "number"

Grab the RIGHT($field$, 4) and put it into an integer field, increment that
field, then use an LPAD to re-add the ABC to it as necessary.

HI All

I have a requirement to take a number such as ABC0005 in a character field and
automatically increment. The case is I have a form where I list the first
number (ABC001) and the quantity (5). When the create button is selected, there
would be a push field to create a new record (x5) with sequential numbers
(ABC001, ABC002, ABC003, ABC004, ABC005). Anyone do something like that?

ARS 9.1

Thanks
Mark
