I saw something very similar to this when an active link was created improperly. The AL was set to execute on window load and was given "Public" permissions. However, it was attempting to perform actions on fields with restricted permissions. For the folks that were in the right groups all was fine; for the rest of the folks, they got an error message similar to the one you're seeing.
