I didn't have too much problems importing the old AM .arx files directly into BMC:BMC_ComputerSystem. There were a few fields that had to be hard coded in the mapping (ClassId = "BMC_COMPUTERSYSTEM", DatasetId =" BMC.ASSET", etc). If I remember correctly I had to change a filter or two to execute on merge.
My biggest problem is that I lost the Status History. The way the BMC:BMC_ComputerSystem join is set up the SH was imported in to the BMC:BMC_AssetBase form and the AST:ComputerSystem form showed the SH from BMC:BMC_ComputerSystem_. I came up with a "special" multiple step process of getting the old SH into BMC:BMC_ComputerSystem_ so it showed up correctly in the AST form. Let me know if you want the details.
