Nachi,
I am not sure you have a problem. Referencing the White Paper May
2005: "Using a hardware load balancer with AR System 6.0" Page 29
"
In addition to the above operations, AR System 6.0 supports fail-over
management for the following operations in a multi server environment:
<snip>
Email Engine —newly supported in multi server mode in version 6.0, this
allows an Email Engine to run on each server with only one being active.
"
So it sounds like things are going on as designed. (Except maybe your
trying to use your cluster servers software to muck with stuff that
the ARS server does for you.)

Hi,
We have our AR Servers(2 servers. primary and secondary on same DB) running
with Server Group On. we would like to set up the AREmail fail over to the
other when one of the email engine fails. In order to set this, we have set the
rank 1 for the primary server and rank 2 for the secondary(AR System Server
Group Operation Ranking form).
The primary server is started successfully including its email engine. But when
I try to start the secondary server, I am getting java exception while email
engine start up in suspend mode.(see the error details below)
I am wondering if this is a bug in 6.3 version, patch 17. if any one faced
similar problems before, your help would be appreciated!
Our System configuration.
Oracle 10G
AR System 6.3 patch 17
Mid-Tier 6.3 patch 17
AR System Email Engine 6.3 patch 17
