I've noticed that Word does not open a full IE for some reason. I have tested it by using a hyperlink in word (to a generic page) vs copying that link from word, opening IE, and pasting it into IE. The 2 work differently. You can even tell by looking at the amount of memory each uses. The IE opened from Word uses less memory than opening IE and pasting the link.
So this seems like a MS issue to me (since the page I tested this with had no connection to Remedy) Fred -----Original Message----- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of VanAartsen, Christopher Sent: Wednesday, January 24, 2007 10:03 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Hyperlink in Word 2000 or 2003 Noticed an odd problem. When we use hyperlinks in the following formats from Microsoft Word (tried on 2000 and 2003 from multiple clients) it automatically comes back with an "ARERR 9295, Incorrect login parameters. Web page, user, and/or server names(s) must be provided." http://WebServerName/arsys/forms/ARServerFQDN/RemoteAccess/?cacheid=&mod e=Submit <http://WebServerName/arsys/forms/ARServerFQDN/RemoteAccess/?cacheid=&mo de=Submit> (remote access request form) http://WebServerName/arsys/home <http://WebServerName/arsys/home> (standard login page) When I use these same exact links from Microsoft Outlook or a web page they log in correctly (Browser in all cases is IE 6.0.2x. Same issue with Firefox 1.0.5). AR Server 6.3, patch 14 and 18, Windows 2003 Server, SQL Advanced 2000 Helpdesk 6.x. Web servers at same patch level. Machines affected, Windows 2000 pro with Office 2003, Window XP pro with Office 2003, Windows XP pro with Office 2000. Searched arlist and supportweb but wasn't able to find anything. Has anyone seen this before?
