I had this very same issue, and unless the authentication is requested
as part of the webservice itself there is no way with out of the box
webservices to do this. I know the xmlgateway from javasystemsolutions
(http://www.javasystemsolutions.com/) does allow for this.

I'm happy to be wrong on this if someone does know a way :-)
