Not in general, unless your support case is the one that created the
defect. However, for critical issues, a technical bulletin can be
created (e.g. the DST 2007 technical bulletin). A technical bulletin
is being created for this issue, but BMC thought it important that we
get the word out informally ASAP while waiting for the Technical
Bulletin to be created and posted.

David,
Thank you for notifying us. My main computer has both Office 2003 and
Visual Studio (2003 and 2005).
On a related note, is there a way to get notified automatically when a
bug Id is created? If it wasn’t for you sending this note my computer,
and hence my productivity, could have been impacted.
Stephen

of MSFT apps
Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know of a new defect found with the
un-installation of the 7.0.x client that seems pretty serious. Here's
the description:
*Bug Number*
SW00257321
*Description*
Uninstall of the 7.x user tool may cause MS Office 2003 or MS Visual
Studio to stop working if the Crystal Reports option was selected at
the time of installation. The issue does not occur if you have not
installed Crystal Reports with the Windows User Tool. If Microsoft
Office 2003 or MS Visual Studio is affected, the machine must be
rolled back to a known restore point or re-imaged to repair the
corruption. This has been found to be a problem with the Business
Objects Crystal redistributable that is bundled with the user tool.
The corruption occurs when the uninstall script of the Crystal MSI is
called by the BMC Windows User Tool uninstaller.
This issue will be addressed in the short term by disabling the
Crystal Reports uninstaller in AR System 7.0.01 Patch 002 WUT
uninstall script. But the problem remains in all previous version and
patches of the 7.x user tool. In addition, an entry for Crystal
Reports will still appear in the "Add/Remove software" section of the
Windows Control Panel. Running the uninstall from the control panel or
from a previous version of the 7.x user tool will cause this issue to
occur. BMC is working with Business Objects to resolve this issue.
Until this problem is permanently resolved, BMC suggests that you do
not uninstall the 7.x user tool and instead, install over the top of
an existing user tool.
Thanks,
