Les, Stan has a pretty comprehensive guide that may help... it's for 6.3, but it's pretty much the same stuff.

The machine is running AIX Apache web server I have never installed Mid-Tier before I have very little AIX I have no experience with Apache When I try to follow the PDF provided by Remedy it refers to ServletExec, but actually installs Tomcat. The guide does not specify how to start/stop Tomcat. The guide does not specify any environment variables required (I don't think). I have tried a couple times with no luck. Every appeard to install fine without error, but when I use a windows machine to browse to the specified configuration page it won't display, even thogh I know the machines can see each other. I am quite lost here and could really use some help. If anyone has done a complete install all the way from pre to post I could sure use your notes.
