Tarun: The native reporting feature in Remedy itself can not do "business time based" (which I understand to mean time calculations taking into account business time/holidays) reporting. However, you can achieve the same thing by having fields on your form that store values to be reported, which are calculated by workflow beforehand, by using the native "business-time" run process functionality. This way you get the full power of "business time" calculations in reports.
If your reporting needs are very complex with too many calculations, or the calculations are complex and are based on values from multiple forms, you probably don't want to add so many fields on Remedy forms just to use them in reports and have to do all the calculations using Remedy workflow. You would have space and performance issues (unless you have a separate ARS environment for reporting). In such situations, I have seen companies get the base data from Remedy and do the calculations outside of Remedy, in the reporting tool. Doing so would require the reporting tool to have access to the holidays and business hours information. Not too difficult to accomplish. If your reporting tool doesn't have "business time calculation" feature similar to Remedy's, a good trick is to have the reporting tool use the good old "artime" program. "artime" has been discontiuned since, I think, version 5 of ARS, but you can still use it, even outside of Remedy. It's a standalone program that doesn't use Remedy APIs or in any way connect to Remedy , so you can use it anywhere with any application. It's one of the sweet legacies of older versions of Remedy that can save the day. In one company, the report developer wrote his own version of "artime" in..I don't know what language. I told him about artime, and I was a hero. :) You should be able to download artime for all platforms on the "community download" section of support site. --- Tarun Kumar SHARMA <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello, > > Is anybody using Reports depends on business time > workdays in Remedy without any problem ?
