Same here, as long as I don't try to access the servers simultaneously, I
can access both from my workstation. Once in awhile I'll get an error to
the effect I have 2 servers and need to shut one down. I have to log in
as someone different and then I can sign on as myself.

Re: Purging a server license in ARS 6/7

I'm in the middle of a move myself, and ran into this same thing. It
appears though, that I'm OK as long as I don't access both servers from
the same machine at the same time. I've got both systems up right now, and
I'm administering the current server through the admin tool on my desktop,
and I'm doing remote desktop to the new server and administering it there.
This might be a workaround for you.
Thanks,
Ron

That's correct, Chris. Remedy was SUPPOSED to issue a 60 day purge
license for the old server when they issued the new server license. That
temp license contains no server ID, so there's no conflict. They didn't
do so, which is why both server IDs are the same. Like I said, I would
have been fine with users only being able to access one at a time until we
cut over, but now the new one is completely inaccessible, and I don't know
what would have changed to cause this limitation.

I have had a Sev 1 ticket open now for 3 hours without a response. Not
gonna comment on that here....

Rick,

We encountered this same issue when moving from an old dev server to a new
one. What we found is that the AR System Server ID was the same on both
servers. I believe this is what causes this error message to come up.
