With the 7.0.01 MT (and I am pretty sure this will apply to 6.3),
there are 2 places where things are cached/compiled, on the server and
on the client.

In the mid-tier config page, you can set the expiration time (seconds)
for certain things (js, css, etc.), though the exact setting name
eludes me. This is a timestamp that is set for each file downloaded
to tell the client how long to retain (cache) the js files generated
by the mid-tier. These files will include js files that define AL
actions, clientcore.js, among other things. The default is 300
seconds.

Flushing the cache on the mid-tier puts these two caches out of sync,
during which time, you may experience odd behavior, e.g., AL's that
read table data may read the wrong column if you changed the column
offset by adding a new column.

Hi Norm,

I've noticed a few times that flushing the cache, and reloading on the
browser (under IE) does not do the trick. In those cases, closing the
browser, then deleting the contents of the Temporary Internet Files folder
seemed to do the trick.

** Norm,
You also might try hitting the reload button on your browser.

Flushing the cache is how you do this in v6.3 and it should work!
Double-check your work.

Subject: Forcing Workflow Changes to Take Effect on a 6.3 Midtier

Hi all:

How does one force a 6.3 Midtier to immediately recognize active link
changes? In 5.1.2 you just either refresh the cache or redeploy the app.
Refreshing the cache does not do this in 6.3 and there's no way to manually
deploy apps anymore.

Help!

Norm
