What permissions do you have to the /etc/arsystem files and directories?
We usually have the admins make the account that Remedy runs under the
owner of all of them then we can set them all to rwxr-xr-x (or 755 in
numbers)

Subject: Unable to license AR server development box

We experienced a problem where one of our development servers was hosed
after our server team unsuccessfully tried to upgrade the AIX server to
the latest version.

They were able to rebuild the server and we copied files and
configuration from our production server to the development server but
we are running into issues trying to reapply the Remedy licenses on the
server.

We get to the point that we fill out the AR Server license information
based on what BMC provided back to us and a pop up message indicating
"Remedy BMC hereby grants you the license..." yada yada yada...

However, after the pop up is closed and we go back into license
Add/Remove Licenses window and the license is gone.
On our server the arsystem.lic file does not get updated.

We receive no errors during this process so we cant determine what has
gone wrong.

Has anyone seen something like this before and has an idea what is
wrong? Remedy BMC is currently not providing much help since we have a
support contract issue with the server that we need to clear up first
before we get some real assistance with the issue.

ARS 6.3 patch 13 on AIX 5.3
Oracle 9.2.0.4
