I just noticed something looking at the two screenshots - the time is off by an hour. The DST bug has struck again :)

I create iCal files which are either run or emailed to users or groups. Here are a couple threads that have addl details: "Remedy to Outlook Integration", Jan 2006 "Creating a text file from the user tool - Multiple Lines", August 2005 Included in the attached zip file (rename to .zip to open) are two screenshots. The first is the screen that users see when they click the Appt button on a ticket. Information from the ticket is auto-populated but the user can change anything. When the user is in the Windows User Tool the 'Send To Outlook' button is enabled. When the 'Send to Outlook' button is clicked an .ics file is created and copied to the user's C: drive (sample inside the zip file). Outlook.exe is run with certain command line parameters (e.g. /ical "$zTmpICalFile$"). This opens a new Outlook Appointment screen with all the fields populated (second screenshot). All the user has to do is click 'Save and Close' to save it. The 'Email Appt' button will email the .ics file to a person or a group. When the recipients of the email receive it all they need to do is double-click the attached .ics file, then click 'Save and Close'. Emailing to a group is handy when multiple people need to have the identical appointment. This approach is not the same as OLE, but it may give you some ideas for creating a solution for your company. HTH Stephen *The screenshots are somewhat grainy - I wanted to keep the file size as small as possible. ________________________________ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Bruce Scott Sent: Monday, March 26, 2007 12:36 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Outlook OLE ** This is something that is of HUGE interest to me as well. I've not spent a lot of time using OLE as I was under the impression that it was one of those programming technologies Microsoft was slowly disowning. This is one that creates an Outlook Appointment. I have it working and now need to add information to the Body of the appointment. Does anyone know which "Automation Server" to select to add another OLE Automation to an Active Link? I am looking for the one that get this result, this is the one for Subject, I need it for Message Body. Type in value here = Application( ).ActiveInspector( ).CurrentItem( ).Subject( $Subject$ ) Thank you, James __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ ________________________________ The information contained in this electronic mail message, including attachments, if any, is PetSmart confidential information.
