I did some research on this about a month back. Oracle 10g was released after AR 5.1.2 went unsupported, although it might run, BMC never tested 5.1.2 it on 10G.
I wasn't able to attach the 5.1 Compatibility Matrix to this message, but I can forward it to you off the list if you need it. Ryan M. We are currently on Sun Solaris 8, ARS 5.1.2 and Oracle 9i(2). We plan on moving to new hardware/server for everything - Remedy Server, Database Server, etc.. We were hoping of moving to Oracle 10g and keeping our current version of Remedy 5.1.2 and Sun Solaris 9(should not matter,I guess). We then hope to do the upgrade of Remedy to 6.3 later on... There are some business reasons for doing so... Do you see any issues with this ?? Have you done this approach before ?? One thing that jumps out to me is that Oracle 10g uses ONLY Cost-based optimization and NOT rule-based - will that be an issue when moving from 9i to 10g on 5.1.2 Remedy Server ?? Would appreciate your input on this. thanks, Cherian __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:"Where the Answers Are"
