Michael,
Set the string in col1 to be "col1 (col2)".
Then the menu only needs to show "col1" to get the string "col1 (col2)".
OR. (and I like this next option just slightly worst then having a root canal)
Use an SQL menu to concatenate the col1 and col2 fields with
parenthesis where you want them instead of using a "Search" menu.
