Maybe we don't adequately understand what you're trying to do.
You mention two kind of separate things ... Groups .... and then CTI (Category, Type and Item). They are stored in different forms and accessed differently. Are you trying to only make a Group 'go-away'? Or just the CTI? Are you using ITSM or HelpDesk? What version?
