Thanks for your response. Company and site are both Active Directory attributes. They both can be pulled from AD.
By importing all the AD data, the following bad things happen: - Remedy data and AD data "disagree" any time an update is made in one or the other in between synchronizations. - The synchronization process itself is convoluted and resource-intensive. - Data is duplicated in multiple data systems. In my opinion, duplicating data from an authoritative data source is just poor design. ________________________________ From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Roger Justice Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2007 8:08 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Why Import People into ITSM 7 at All? ITSM 7 has taken the People form to a new level. Although the application permissions and licensing information are still held on the User record the configuration is from the people form. You can add a person to a group from the prople form as well. The Company and Site are required fields on Incident and Change and are also held on the people form. As you can see there is a lot that is now on CTM:People that workflow uses. __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ __20060125_______________________This posting was submitted with HTML in it___ _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:"Where the Answers Are"
