Try This

Use the "Configuration ARDBC" form (it is a Vendor form that looks at
the ar.conf file). Push 0 to "Debug-mode"'s value to turn off the logs.
Do your rename of the logs and then push your original value to turn
them back on.

Subject: Managing log files

Hello Listers,

I was looking in the List archives for threads concerning automation of
log files.
I want to run log files and shut them off at midnight, save the .log.bak
to a unique name and turn the log back on again.
And, No, this is not my attempt at Friday Humor.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
