BMC Configuration Management is 100% (or at least 99.9%) agent-based and cannot discover network gear (unless you're using Windows server for routing and switching) :) No tuner no workie BMC's Foundation and Topology Discovery will do network inventory discoveries though. TD also does VMWare, SAN, etc.

Actually my question is not about ARS, but BMC Config.Man. (formerly Marimba). Can anybody tell me, can this suite deal with network equipment, like Cisco routers\switches and SAN devices, like Symmetrix? All I can see from manuals, that agents ("tuners" in marimba terms) can be deployed to *nix and windows machines, but no any word of network devices. Any suggestions? Can anybody share information of using BMC Config.Man. to inventory ALL infrastructure, not only desktops\PCs and servers, but network equipment and storages too? -- Mike Chepaykin _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:"Where the Answers Are" _______________________________________________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org ARSlist:"Where the Answers Are"
