We see this type of error from time to time. What the error means is that the remote Oracle "DATABASE" (DATABASE would be the name of your dbLink you are using to connect to the remote Oracle) had an error and closed the connection that the Remedy database was using to connect to it. The DBA of the remote database should look in his/her logs to see what additional errors there are when this occurrs. Remedy, seeing an error from Oracle generates a 552 error and appends the data it received from Oracle to show it to the user. The problem we have here is that the remote database we are selecting data from runs out of connections at times and their DBA has to force close the invalid/old connections. Fred

Both Databases are on AIX 5.3 machines and on Oracle 10.2.0.3.0. I created the public database link as ARADMIN. Both Databases perform a nightly sync with our primary ERP database, which is not Remedy. Has anyone come across this before and know how to fix it?
