Another great option is HotBasic. It gives you all the ease (very
simple syntax) of BASIC (even easier than VB.NET) but with all the speed
and power of a truly compiled language. It's also cross-platform--it
has a Windows version and a Linux version.

It depends on what you plan to do. Since my company is a big Microsoft
shop, it makes sense to know VB.NET here, but when I've worked at other
places that use Unix and Oracle, you have more possibilities. Perl is a
good option in those cases because ARSPerl makes it easy to interact
with Remedy. So all of it depends on what project you have in front of
you and what functionality Remedy doesn't have that a traditional
programming language can give you.

Subject: Remedy and Programming Languages

I would like some opinions from all my great friends here on the
ARSlist.

If you had to choose one programming language to learn (for use
with Remedy) which one would you choose?

        Thanks in advance.
